Maci Bookout
At the age of 16, Maci became pregnant with her son Bentley. She heard about a
documentary that MTV was developing to show the struggles of teen pregnancy and
submitted her casting tape. Shortly thereafter, she began filming and on June 9, 2009 Maci's
was the first episode of '16 & Pregnant' to air.
Thanks to the success of the '16 & Pregnant' franchise, MTV decided to expand on the girls
stories and the 'Teen Mom' series was born. Maci has appeared on four seasons of 'Teen
Mom', with season 4 being its final season.
Since the inception of '16 & Pregnant' and 'Teen Mom', the teen pregnancy rate in the U.S.
has dropped significantly and Maci feels this is no coincidence, but that the stories and
struggles of four normal teenage mothers being shared with the world has had a direct
impact on those numbers.
In addition to appearing on '16 & Pregnant' and 'Teen Mom', Maci works to educate young
people on teen pregnancy prevention through public speaking engagements and personal
appearances.
